Disorder effects on triple-point fermions

چکیده
The stability of three-dimensional relativistic semimetals to disorder has recently attracted great attention, but the effect remains elusive for multifold fermions, that are not present in framework quantum field theory. In this paper, we investigate one type so-called triple-point fermions (TPFs), which have pseudospin-1 degrees freedom and topological charges $\pm2$. Specifically, consider on a minimal, three-band tight-binding model, realizes minimal number two TPFs. numerically-obtained, disorder-averaged density states suggests that, within finite energy window, TPFs robust up critical strength disorder. strong regime, inter-TPF scattering is main mechanism destroying single TPF. Moreover, study effects distribution Fermi arcs surface Berry curvature. We demonstrate arc retains its sharpness at weak disorder, gradually dissolves into metallic bulk stronger clean limit, curvature exhibits bipolar configuration Brillouin zone. With increasing positive negative start merge nearby momenta where penetrate bulk.

Triple-point wetting on rough substrates.
The influence of substrate roughness on the wetting scenario of adsorbed van der Waals films is investigated by theory and experiment. Calculating the bending free energy penalty of a solid sheet picking up the substrate roughness, we show that a finite roughness always leads to triple-point wetting reducing the widths of the adsorbed solid films considerably as compared to that of smooth subst...

متن کاملON POINT-LIKE INTERACTION BETWEEN n FERMIONS AND ANOTHER PARTICLE
In this note the point-like interaction of n fermions with a particle of a different nature is considered in a framework of the theory of self-adjoint extensions of symmetric operators. It introduces the family of extensions of the original symmetric operator, most natural from the physical point of view (the so-called Ter-Martirosian–Skornyakov’ extensions). Here we prove that for n 6 4 and la...
متن کاملFixed-point action for fermions in QCD
The ultimate goal of any improvement program for QCD is to find a perfect action with no lattice artifacts: the renormalized trajectory (RT) of some renormalization group transformation (RGT), parameterized by g the gauge coupling and m the quark mass. That is too difficult a task at present, and so we attempt instead to find the one-loop perfect fixed point (FP) action (at β = ∞) and to follow...
متن کاملQuantum Critical Point in Heavy Fermions
The concept that heavy fermions are close to a quantum critical point and that this proximity determines their physical behavior has opened new perspectives in the study of these systems. It has provided a new paradigm for understanding and probing the properties of these strongly correlated materials. Scaling ideas were important to establish this approach. We give below a brief and personal a...
